In medieval Europe, January 6th was St. Distaff Day, when the women returned to their spinning wheels after the Christmas holiday. Visit Hiwan Homestead Museum on January 6th, 2010 from Noon to 4 P.M. and see spinning demonstrations, learn the history of spinning, and try your hand at spinning wool!
