GOALS ("Get Outside and Learn Something") is a local nonprofit designing river expeditions that transform the future for kids & wild places. As their "more than just a river trip" tagline suggests, GOALS takes a 3-layered focus that synchronously addresses adolescent mental health issues, the importance of environmental stewardship, and the joy of outdoor adventure - in that order or priority.
GOALS is committed to removing the stigma around mental health, to helping teens discover authentic versions of themselves the hyper-scheduled and over-electronicized lifestyles keep out of reach, and to increasing access to wild places for historically under-represented populations so that the next generation of explorers and leaders understand how people and wild places can benefit one another.
