They are holding an informational luncheon with a speaker from Don't Hurt Colorado (www.donthurtcolorado.com), along with Jefferson County Schools Superintendant Dr. Cindy Stevenson, Golden Mayor Jacob Smith, and Jefferson County representatives and would like to extend the invitiation to all of Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce Members to attend and learn about the hugely negative impact these ballot items could have on Colorado's economy as a whole.
*Don't be fooled by the promise of tax relief. Hear the real facts at this luncheon, such as: 70,000 jobs will be lost in addition to the ones already lost during this economic downturn, as many as 8000 teachers will get pink slips driving up class sizes everywhere, small businesses will be hammered and will not survive, roads and bridges will not be able to be built and/or repaired, city budgets such as Golden could be cut up to 40% (Ask yourself what will go? Parks, trails, community center, swimming pools, less snowplowing? Who knows" But it will happen.)
Come on out and hear for yourself hwo devastating this will be if these three issues pass. Your support is needed in getting the real word out. There will be material available for you to take and distribute, signs of various sizes, talking points, etc. This is a working luncheon with a bag lunch.
