Job Description

Housekeeper (Part-Time) at Boutique Hotel

Alpen Way Chalet Mountain Lodge is a small, family-owned and operated boutique hotel in beautiful Evergreen, Colorado. We’re seeking one to two friendly, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individuals to join our team as Housekeepers.

Work in a beautiful mountain setting while caring for thoughtfully designed guest spaces — no uniform required. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys staying active, working independently or with a small team, and seeing the immediate results of their work at the end of each shift.

About the Role

The Housekeeper plays an essential role in upholding the exceptional cleanliness and thoughtful presentation that define the Alpen Way Chalet experience. You will be responsible for the cleaning, sanitization, and full turnover of our guest rooms and suites between stays. Each space must be thoughtfully reset and prepared with care and attention to detail before the next guest arrives.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Making beds and refreshing linens
  • Dusting and wiping down surfaces
  • Thorough bathroom and kitchen cleaning and sanitization
  • Restocking guest room amenities
  • Sweeping patios and wiping down outdoor furniture
  • Identifying maintenance or inventory needs and communicating them to management
  • Ensuring each space is guest-ready and beautifully presented

Training & Supervision

No prior housekeeping experience is required. We provide hands-on training to ensure you understand our standards, systems, and expectations. You’ll learn how we prepare and present each room to meet the high level of cleanliness and care our guests expect. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time position
15–25 hours per week during peak season (May–October)
10–20 hours per week during low season (November–April)

Weekend availability is required, including peak summer holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day).

Typical shift hours are 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Shifts begin no later than 11:00 AM to ensure rooms are guest-ready as early as possible
Shifts typically end at 4:00 PM, though end times may be earlier on lighter days, depending on occupancy

Compensation starts at $23–$25 per hour, based on experience

We build our housekeeping team with flexibility in mind and welcome candidates who prefer to work during peak season only. Whether you’re looking for just a few hours per week or more consistent hours, we can often accommodate, provided you are available to work weekends.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and hardworking
  • Because we are a small team, reliability matters. Showing up on time and as scheduled is essential to keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform daily physical/manual labor
  • Comfortable working independently and efficiently (after training)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Prior housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required — we will train the right person

Growth Opportunities

This position is ideal for hospitality management students or anyone interested in learning the day-to-day operations of a small boutique hotel. We are happy to teach other aspects of the business for those eager to grow, and we’re glad to sign off on work-study hours to help complete your degree.

This role has the potential to evolve into a General Assistant position, supporting additional areas of property management and operations for the right candidate.

If you value high standards, take ownership of your work, and want to be part of something special in a beautiful mountain setting, we’d love to meet you.

To Apply

Please email your resume and a brief cover letter telling us a bit about yourself, outlining your availability, any relevant experience (if applicable), and why this role appeals to you.
