Certified Nurse Assistant Program (June 10th-28th 2019 is the 1st session)
Life Care Center of Evergreen will be offering a unique educational opportunity right here in the mountain community for free. The center will be offering CNA training and full-time employment to successful graduates. It’s a worthy investment of time as employment opportunities for nursing assistants is projected to grow 17% nationally from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations due to the growing elderly population (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
CNA training prepares the student to work in a broad range of healthcare areas from nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, to clinics. Furthermore, if you are interested in pursuing a nursing career, CNA certification is frequently required as a pre-requisite to nursing school. If you are at least 18 years of age or are mid-career seeking a change and have an interest in healthcare and helping people, this may be the platform to launch your healthcare career.
The curriculum is 120 hours to be completed in three weeks. The course will focus on lab and clinical training to include basic nursing skills, patient safety, and the role and responsibility of caring for residents. Clinical rotations will be conducted under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Upon completion of the course, graduates will be eligible to take the state competency evaluation to become a Certified Nurse Assistant
