Job Summary:
Inspect, test drive, maintain and repair septic fleet (service trucks and CDL vehicles)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles (fleet; both work/service trucks and CDL vehicles) and on equipment
- Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose & perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipment.
- Tire maintenance and replacement
- May be required to test drive equipment, if certified
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Proactively communicate with drivers, employees, and management
- Maintain a positive & proactive work environment
- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but not limited to engines, transmissions and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Follow procedures including documenting all work performed
Qualifications:
Education:
- On-the-job training or diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school
- Minimum 2 years of full time experience as a vehicle mechanic
- Valid driver’s license
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
- Class A/B CDL a plus
- Diesel engines
- Air and hydraulic brakes
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Electrical systems (Strong 12 volt electrical background helpful)
- Truck and trailer lights and wiring
- Customer service skills
- Ability to read & understand repair manuals
- Basic knowledge in welding and cutting
- Basic knowledge in safety and environmental regulations
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and driving background check
- Stand 10 hours a day
- Lift 75 lbs
