Job Summary:
Evergreen Community School is a brand new nature-based preschool opening this fall. We are hiring Lead Teachers for our infant and young toddler classrooms. We are looking for experienced, nurturing, and enthusiastic Early Childhood professionals interested in working in a new nature-based program.
 
Position:
Full Time: Monday through Friday
Hours: 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm with 1-hour Lunch Break
Pay is hourly and based on experience
 
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Must have an Associates or Bachelors degree in or related to the field of Early Childhood Education.
Must have at least two years of experience in an infant or toddler classroom.
Early Childhood Teacher qualified in accordance with Colorado state regulations 
Must have current CPR/First Aid training
Infant Teacher: Must have training and experience working in an infant class.
Experience with emergent, child based curriculum
Interest and/or experience in Nature Based Education
 
Job Requirements:
  • Supervise an infant or toddler class.
  • Create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Including the selection of classroom materials, art activities, storytelling, special projects.
  • Maintain a safe environment. This includes proper cleaning and sanitizing. 
  • Create and implement a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedule that reflects the needs of the current children in the class. 
  • Observe and document the children’s learning, behavior and development to be shared with teaching staff and parents.
  • Address the individual needs of each child as they emerge.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to address behavioral challenges.
  • Work cooperatively with an assistant teacher to train and share aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and the director concerning the needs of all children.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, orientations, and trainings.
  • Interpret and practice the philosophy of the community and nature-based school.
