 Value

Compare the value of print advertising to word of mouth advertising. Most people are more comfortable doing business with individuals known to them or their friends. This is a great way to increase your word of mouth advertising and develop repeat business.

   Great Referrals

A good referral offers the opportunity to do business with someone who is known to be in the market to buy your product or service. Referrals are not guaranteed sales; however they offer an opportunity to meet face to face with someone who is already interested in your product or service. Referrals build on your existing prospecting efforts. This expanded network is a great opportunity to add to your database of potential business.

Get Involved

The chamber leads groups are a good way to get involved with other local business people and embers can provide access to clients you would not otherwise be able to contact. Also, members have the opportunity to advertise what specials, opportunities, and products or services they have to offer. Leads groups are a great way to create new business and generate new leads! Aug 27 New 8-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid Community Classes
WHEAT RIDGE – Depression. Anxiety. Substance abuse. These are but a few of the mental health challenges youth in Colorado struggle with every day.  In fact, one out of five adolescents you meet has struggled with a mental health or substance use problem at some point.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an innovative, 8-hour course that introduces the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents (12 and older) and builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual following a heart attack, Youth Mental Health First Aid training helps a person assist adolescents experiencing a mental health crisis. The program provides a concrete action plan to help youth in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, and self-help care.
This evidence-based training has been featured in ABC News, USA Today and NPR. Jefferson Center has been providing MHFA since 2009 and has trained more than 200 people in our community, law enforcement, Red Rocks Community College, Metro Community Provider Network, JeffCo Department of Health and Environment and more.
Participants will learn:
  • The warning signs and risk factors for depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, & substance use.
  • A 5-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect to professional care.
  • Resources available to help someone with a mental health problem.
Who should attend:•Teachers, administrators, college faculty and clergy
  • Employers, human resources and other professionals
  • Homeless shelter, substance abuse and nursing home staff
  • Hospitals and primary care health centers
  • Law enforcement, human services, and other first responders
  • Policymakers
  • Families and caring citizens

Jefferson Center for Mental Health is proud to offer Youth Mental Health First Aid to our community.

About Jefferson Center for Mental Health

Aug 29 Last Friday Art Walk
Joe Glasmire and Laurie Hill Gibb are the featured artists for Last Friday Art Walk at Main Street Fine Art Gallery next to Beau Jo?s in downtown Evergreen Friday, August 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. Both artists will be demonstrating their art techniques during the event.

Both artists have teaching children in their background, and both are inspired by nature and particular places they have been. Both are thrilled to have the Evergreen gallery be the backdrop for their art work. Joe is inspired by beautiful contrasts in nature, particularly dramatic light and shadows throughout the day. His style ranges from tightly controlled compositions to more loosely created images.

Glasmire started art classes as an 11-year old, which eventually led to him getting a degree in art education and to teaching art for a number of years. During various moves while working in pharmaceutical sales, he was inspired to continue his art work with watercolor paint, colored pencil drawing, and pastels. He was inspired by beautiful landscapes and historical buildings in the eastern U.S. His retirement in Evergreen now allows him to be inspired by the Colorado landscape. Gibb began working with fabric at the heels of her maternal grandmother and mother. After a 40-year teaching career, she finds her creative energies going into making original art pieces from natural fabrics. She uses a variety of techniques to add color to fabric including, dyeing, painting, silk-screening, stamping and stenciling. Most of her pieces are hand or machine stitched.

Gibb in a Colorado native, never leaving for any length of time except for her year-long journey around the U.S. in her VW van, Turtle. Many of her pieces on exhibit were inspired by that journey. Now the exploration of ideas and techniques continue to engage her time. Gibb?s work has been exhibited through the U.S. and the story of her journey of travel and the quilting of her VW bus has appeared in a number of publications.
