Urban Wetland Wonders for Homeschoolers

Wetlands provide habitat for a large diversity of wildlife, but that?s not all! Hike among the cattails, explore life in a pond, and discover the many functions of an urban wetland. During this program, participants will explore a wetland ecosystem and discover who lives in and uses them. They will learn what the functions of wetlands are and why they are important places for migrating wildlife and people. They will gain an understanding of why wetlands need to be protected and preserved. Program Details: Take an easy 1 mile hike in this urban park stopping along the way to participate in activities and games. Program is geared to a 4th-6th grade learning level but young knowledge seekers of all ages are welcome! This program is open to all families who would like to attend. You do not need to be part of a homeschool group in order to participate in this program. This two-hour program will be outside at Crown Hill Park so please dress appropriately for spring weather. Layers are recommended.
