Overcoming personal hardships, seven Legendary Ladies became part of the lore of the West. Portrayed by members of the Legendary Ladies non-profit educational women?s performance organization, you?ll meet Mother Jones, Emily Griffith, Mother Cabrini, Rosamond Underwood, Captain Jack, Helen Hunt Jackson and Prairie Rose Henderson. Learn which pioneering lady advocated for Native Americans; mining safety; education; and traveled alone without ?fear of man or devil.? Come enjoy a fun afternoon and meet these unconventional spirits who became part of the lore of the West on Saturday, April 11 at 1 PM at Hiwan Homestead Museum, 4208 S. Timbervale Dr., Evergreen CO 80439. The Legendary Ladies program will be held at the Timbervale Barn, adjacent to Hiwan Homestead Museum. This program is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society; there is a fee of $10 per person. Please call the Museum at 720-497-7650 to reserve your spot!
