Late Summer Birds

We'll be looking for birds and talking about how to identify them. Also, learn how to distinguish the year round residents from those passing through on migration. Join our naturalist to learn techniques for identifying, describing, and remembering each bird you see. You will also learn facts about different birds and have your many bird questions answered. Program Details Adults only please. This program will be 2-3 hours long with an option to stay after for a brown bag lunch (not provided). The hike will take place on the Coyote Song Trail and the Swallow Trail, about a 2 mile loop. Please wear hiking boots or good, comfortable walking shoes. Dress for the weather. Bring with you binoculars, a bird guide, snacks and water as needed. You can also bring a lunch if you would like to stay after the program to discuss the results of the day. Dress for the weather and bring sunscreen and a hat. You will meet the naturalist at the Main trailhead/parking lot of South Valley Park on South Valley Road. Let's play and learn outside! Our programs go rain, snow, or shine! So, dress accordingly. We will cancel the program if the weather is hazardous or unsafe. If a program is canceled we will send an e-mail and/or call each registered participant. You can also check the event listing.
