Homeschool Nature Adventures: Incredible Insects

Search the field and forest for insects and discover some of their amazing adaptations for survival through observation, inquiry explorations, nature journaling and more! Program activities are designed for youth ages 6 - 12 years with an adult. Younger & older siblings are welcome to attend, however, please note that there may not be age appropriate activities for them to participate in. This program is limited to 20 youth participants. You will check-in with the naturalist by the kiosk in the main parking lot of Flying J Ranch Park. The program will be based at one of the picnic shelters and participants will be exploring the nearby environment from there. Participants need to bring: -A sketchbook and pencil -Snacks -Water -Sun hat -Sturdy footwear -A raincoat or other clothing layers appropriate for changes in the weather No pets please. This program is designed for homeschool groups but registration is not limited to homeschool groups only. Any family is welcome to register. Let's play and learn outside! Our programs go rain, snow, or shine! So, dress accordingly. We will cancel the program if the weather is hazardous or unsafe. If a program is canceled we will send an e-mail and/or call each registered participant. You can also check the event listing.
