Freedom Run 5K benefiting Mount Evans Hospice

Don’t miss the 36th annual Freedom Run 5K benefiting Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice in Evergreen. Whether you walk, run, stroll, or cheer from the sidelines, the Freedom Run is a great way to kick off your Fourth of July. And the event doesn’t end at the finish line—after the race, participants and their families and friends are invited to enjoy refreshments, music, games and fun at Nick’s Pro Fitness. The scenic 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) course follows gently rolling terrain through residential areas, beginning at Evergreen Middle School at 8:00 a.m. Online registration at FreedomRunRace.org is encouraged. Participants can also register in person through July 3 at the Mount Evans office, 3081 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen. Mount Evans is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will be open for registration and bib/chip/t-shirt pickup from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3. Those wishing to register on race day are asked to be at Evergreen Middle School by 6:45 a.m. The entry fee is $35 for adults and $15 for children and youth 18 and under (add $5 on race day). Funds raised by the Freedom Run will help Mount Evans care for underinsured or uninsured patients as well as support numerous services including grief counseling, transportation for patients to medical appointments, respite care for family caregivers, and Camp Comfort, a bereavement camp for children.
