Name: Free Yoga at Evergreen Library!
Date: May 2, 2016
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
If you've ever wondered if there is something to this yoga thing beyond the benefits of an aerobic exercise class, now is your chance to find out. FREE! Experience the transformational benefits of traditional yoga with a highly skilled and experienced guide. Scientists tell us that deep, slow breathing techniques benefit...well, pretty much everything: reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, improving digestive function, increasing oxygenation, and improving cognitive function. Scientific research also reveals that muscle contraction improves insulin sensitivity, inhibits inflammatory responses, and stimulates beneficial gene expression. Wait a minute...slow, deep breathing? Muscle contraction and resistance movements? That?s exactly what you'll find in this experience of Yoga at the Library! Open to adults of all levels of physical ability, from coffee-cup lifters to Triple Bypass participants. No prior yoga experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothes. Loaner mats available.
