Caregiver Survival Skills is a free educational series presented by the Mountain Caregivers Resource Group. June’s topic, “Medical Advocacy for Caregivers,” will be presented by Janine Guillen, a Registered Nurse, attorney and MBA who is president of the board of directors at Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice. The program is designed to teach caregivers how to make sure their loved ones get the best possible medical care. Among other things, participants will learn how and why medical advocacy could save a loved one’s life, how to communicate effectively with medical personnel, how to prevent medical errors, and how to be a “medical detective.” About the Mountain Caregivers Resource Group The Mountain Caregivers Resource Group consists of representatives from Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice, the Seniors’ Resource Center-Evergreen, Augustana Elk Run Assisted Living, and Life Care Center of Evergreen.
