Baehrden Historic Lodge Open House

After being closed to the public for decades, this historic lodge is now once again open to the public! Built in 1927, Baehrden is a classic representation of the rustic Colorado Alpine style of architecture. Unfortunately, the whole lodge is not yet available but you will be able to walk through and marvel at the restored porch, main room, and dining room. Come join us for a look into the history of Baehrden and Pine Valley Ranch Park. No formal tour will be offered however, staff and volunteers will be present to answer questions. Stop by anytime between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm to walk around and get a closer look at the carvings of wildlife in the wood and wrought iron fixtures. Program Details Ages 10 years to adults No registration is required. Please park in the upper parking lot and go up the stairs that are located across from the parking lot. The stairs up to the lodge are very steep. The trail from the parking lot to the front door is approximately 350 ft with a 60 ft elevation gain. This is considered a hard trail. If you feel that you are unable to walk up the stairs a ride can be arranged. If you need a ride, please arrive 15 - 20 minutes early. Let the staff member standing at the bottom of the stairs know that you will need to be driven up to the lodge. There is still a short, slightly uphill walk from where you will be dropped off to the lodge. (250 ft with an easy 2 - 8% grade, dirt trail). Please make sure you are still able to walk this distance or have someone with you to assist you. The lodge can be quite cold please dress in layers. Bathrooms are located in the lower parking lot; there are NO BATHROOMS at the lodge. No dogs please. If you can't join this open house, tours will be available every Sunday afternoon June - August, 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Tours are approximately 30 minutes long and are first come-first serve, with a limit of 20 people per tour. First tour at 11:00 am, last tour at 2:30 pm.
