A unique 90 minute class focuses on devotional yoga known as Bhakti and the study of the eight-limbs of yoga. It provides an opportunity to learn more about the spiritual depth of the path of a yogi. The class is blend of lecture, mantra, asana and meditation. We open with a bhakti story or reading from the great epics such as the Mahabharata, Ramayana, Patanjalis Yoga Sutras. Following the dharma talk is a short nada yoga practice. (The yoga of sound) The class will chant together and conclude the seated portion of this practice with Pranayama. The last 45 minutes of the class focuses on a gentle vinyasa asana practice. A balanced hatha flow that draws upon the elements of kundalini, ashtanga, and yin yoga. The practice closes with a guided yoga nidra (a meditation style referred to as the sleep of the yogis) in svasana.
