Name: Especially for Grandparents! - A Project Learning Tree workshop
Date: September 27, 2014
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
Grandparents are you looking for fun, entertaining, educational ways to engage your grandchildren outdoors? Try Project Learning Tree's Environmental Experiences for 3-6 year olds! This 3 hour workshop will allow to you to sample activities, listen to music, read a few of the literature books, taste the thematic snacks, and create a toolkit of the easy materials to help kids learn in and about the natural world all from their activity guide book and cd. Only available at this workshop! This is the best time to develop critical life- long connections to nature. It?s not necessary to know the names of every flower, insect or tree. Just share the experience! Content will follow, naturally, if the interest has been ignited! Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood provides simple, fun ideas to connect 3-6 year olds with nature, while learning about counting, sorting, matching, colors, sounds, seasons, trees, and more. Activities are thematic, with appropriate snacks, literature, crafts, music and inexpensive, natural materials. Additional benefits include opportunities for meaningful conversations for early vocabulary development and memory-making, discovering things to read about, draw, and experience together, and reducing the amount of time kids spend staring at screens! Take home an easy to use activity guide and music cd, and a new appreciation of nature through the eyes of a small person! Learn why it is important to provide opportunities for young children to experience the natural world. Register at: https://caee.ejoinme.org/MyPages/PLTforGrandparents/tabid/545893/Default.aspx
